been a very busy week - June 29, 2009
Been to Montsant and back, and now have a pile of tasting notes to enter into adegga. Regardless the trip was fun and full of interesting twists and turns, not to mention way too much food! Seriously we did not starve on this trip.
Anyways, here’s a favorite pic from our time there…about 500 more to edit through, when I have time!

Vimeo Channels! - June 24, 2009
Yeah I might be a bit slow, but I have to say I love it when I make minor discoveries. Anyways, after much searching for the perfect video solution, I have to say I am now happy to be 95.9% behind the Vimeo choice. If they add stat tracking to the videos like Youtube has recently I will move completely onto Vimeo. But for now, I love the interface, and the fact with one account I can have a Catavino channel and a Ryan Opaz channel. Now I can play around all I want!
Stay tuned for useless video from my wanderings!
Dali Museum – Figueres, Spain - June 21, 2009
I remember studying Dali in college. At the time I felt that his work had become a bit of a cliche, with dorm rooms plastered wall to wall with dripping clocks. A few years back in Chicago I had the chance to see some of his other work, and again in Madrid. Having just visited the Dali museum in Figueres, I have to say that I am starting to like his stuff again, though I’m not in love with it. The museum is a must see, but after leaving it my mind felt abused by the intensity of the imagery. It’s said that Dali spent the last years of his life living at the building/museum/home. I think I would have lost my mind. Intense to say the least. Then again, he was a very talented individual.
All that said, I do love the fact that though you can’t use a flash you can shoot all the photos you want. Dali would have wanted it that way!

Dancing Fountain – Barcelona -
Fountains in Barcelona from ryan opaz on Vimeo.
Up on Montjuic every night you can enjoy a display of fountains set to music. I saw it for the first time last night, and I have to say it’s amazing!
A visit from relatives was the impetus for our first visit to the famous Montjuic dancing fountains. Glad we did. Set to music these were beyond amazing. Not to mention a nice hypnotic device to let your mind clear and refresh. I changed the music due to bad audio on the video, but you still get the picture. Enjoy.
