English/Engrish - May 31, 2009

I didn’t set this photo up. We were at a historic church and in the “brochure” area this is what we saw. Funny thing is there was no english brochures anywhere. I wonder if the person who did it was as oblivious as it seems, or if they were just having a little fun? Here in Spain you never know.

The internet in 1969 - May 24, 2009

Most of you have probably seen this…none the less it’s a great way to think about ideas you may have today that seem to be “out there”.

New Camera – Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP -

We needed a new point and shoot camera and this is what we decided on. Great camera with HD video that’s not to shabby. A bit too small for my big hands, but in the end a camera that is discreet in restaurants, and capable of taking quick shots when my bigger SLR is just not practical. Plus now Gabriella has something to play with when I’m taking way too many pictures on long hikes.
Anyways, here’s a self portrait during out trip to London. Colors are great, though I wish I could shoot in RAW, so that I could really tweak it.

“A Focus” of magnifying glasses? - May 19, 2009

It’s a murder of crows, a gaggle of geese, herd of cattle, so what is the group of magnifying glasses called? A focus? A focus group?
